Apt Games has confirmed a release date for TERROR SQUID on Nintendo Switch.

This easy-to-understand but difficult to master arcade game promises to be a “score-attack synth nightmare,” in which every enemy projectile is emitted by you.

Set around a doomed planet you are the TERROR SQUID, a cosmic chaos entity that spins around the world unloading hazardous inky projectiles to create an “unholy vector graphics apocalypse.”

You must weave through a bullet hell of your own making, surviving as long as possible without getting hit by your own projectiles. Survive for long enough and you can unleash a “primordial blast of dark energy” that detonates your projectiles in chain reactions.

“With TERROR SQUID we wanted to make a hypnotic score-attack game that’s easy to grasp, but difficult to master,” explains creative director Syver Lauritzsen. “We also wanted it to feel haunted, just as the best 80s arcade games infect your brain in ways both terrifying and entrancing. Become one with the TERROR SQUID.”

TERROR SQUID will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 15th October 2020.
