Dotemu has announced that Another World will release on Nintendo Switch, a game that inspired a generation of creators.
The company is working closely with the original creator Eric Chahi on the port, wanting to stay true to the feel of the game and its sci-fi universe.
For those that haven’t played it before, Another World follows the young and talented physicist Lester Knight Chaykin. While working on an experiment using a particle accelerator, a lightning bolt strikes his lab that causes a particle fusion.
The explosion that soon follows opens a hole in the fabric of space and time, and sees Lester teleported to a barren, alien planet. It is down to you to lead Lester through dangerous environments, battling alien soldiers and wild creatures while solving unique and creative puzzles as he fights for his own survival.
In a new developer diary, Chahi talks about the game’s inspirations, processes, and development doubts, and shares original sketches and illustrations.
Another World will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018.
