The Nintendo Entertainment System’s Power Glove entered the world long before I began gaming, but the accessory’s legacy lives on.
Teens React’s latest episode sees a younger generation take on the undervalued controller, although to varying success. They were fairly frustrated with how poorly the Power Glove worked with Bad Street Brawler, although enjoyed entering the ring in Punch-Out!! far more.
Inevitably they weren’t surprised that it was a commercial failure, stating that it was far too convoluted and imprecise to use. What they were impressed with was how Nintendo marketed the Power Glove, even though it was doomed to fail – suggesting that it helped lead to technology that we see today!
