Konami Digital Entertainment has revealed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Limited Edition box set, priced at $149.99, which is now available to pre-order “through US and Canada based retailers only.”

Having teamed up with Nickelodeon, this one-time, limited-run production collector’s box contains “one-of-a-kind items” as well as exclusive artwork from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

The contents of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Limited Edition are:

  • Physical copy of the game with original box design by Kevin Eastman;
  • Cloth poster featuring Kevin Eastman’s adaptation of TMNT: Turtles in Time (16” by 24”);
  • Multi-layer acrylic diorama of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo (4.5” by 5”);
  • Enamel pin set of five classic designs – The Technodrome, Turtle Blimp, Party Wagon, Shredder and Krang;
  • Set of 12 translucent comic style character trading cards based on TMNT: Tournament Fighters with rarely seen appearances from Wingnut, Armaggon, Chrome Dome, War, Aska, Karai and more (3” by 5”);
  • Full color artbook with 180 pages featuring a chapter dedicated to each of the 13 games in the compilation (5.5” by 8”).

Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo will leap out of the sewers in 13 games from the publisher’s 8-bit, 16-bit and arcade games along with their Japanese versions, which will include:

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Genesis)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Genesis)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)

Digital Eclipse has worked to “expertly adapt these classics for modern gaming systems,” with quality-of-life features such as save anytime, rewind, button mapping, online play for certain games and local couch play “for all titles where originally intended.” There will also be a digital game guide for each game “to help players fight and sometimes swim through difficult areas.”

Imagery from the original cartoons, comics and other historic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles content has been compiled in the in-game Museum, which will also boast “never-before-seen development art, sketches and game design material.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2022, priced at £34.99 ($39.99).
