With news emerging that Tantalus Media were hiring for a “new AAA next-gen title” headed to Wii U, fans immediately became speculative as to what it could be.

Step in the studio’s director of development Joss Ellis who has shed some light on what they’re currently working on, revealing it as a “complete rework” for a “top notch publisher.” Previous Wii U projects have included Funky Barn, Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut, Mass Effect 3: Special Edition, meaning that it could be any games underway.

“It is a ‘port’ but more of a complete rework for the Wii U: a bit like the work we did on Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut,” Ellis explained to Nintendo News.

“I can’t say what the title is but it is very exciting and is for an absolute top notch publisher. This game will be credited Tantalus… it’s not an MA / 18 or ‘hard core’ game which Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut are.”

  1. Interesting… I’m going to throw out Kingdom Hearts 3 as a guess? Which is a “new AAA next-gen title” from a “top notch notch publisher.” It makes sense to me since, as evidenced by Human Revolutions, Tantalus has a relationship with Square.
