Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is in development.
The iconic ’90s pocket companions are back in this latest game in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series. After the Great Gotchi King declares that the Tamagotchi Fest will be held in Tamagotchi Planet, it is up to you to help Prince Tamahiko turn Tamahiko Town into a place fit to welcome the festival.
Promising to bring back the unique feel of setting up quirky shops in the Tamagotchi world and serving the characters that exist in it, there will be 12 different shops for you to peruse around the town’s plaza. Those include returning classics like the Dentist, to new additions such as the Afternoon Tea Shop, Eyewear or Galette shops.
Each shop will offer its own minigame and unique gameplay – some letting you play co-operatively with a friend in local multiplayer – where successfully serving customers will increase the shop’s reputation and help attract more than 100 Tamagotchi customers for you to meet.
The game can also be linked to the latest toy model Tamagotchi Uni, rewarding you with exclusive items that can only be obtained by connecting them.
Tamagotchi Plaza will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 27 June 2025.
