Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed that Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered is in development, news that was revealed in an interview with Famitsu.
With thanks to ryokutya2089 for their summary, Tales of series producer Yusuke Tomizawa had explained to the Japanese publication that “the [Tales of] Xillia 2 remaster is still in progress.”
He discussed how there are two games in development as part of the Remastered Project, each at either the verification stage to their final stages of development, and added that the next game planned for release will be announced soon.
Through the Remastered Project, Bandai Namco Entertainment has worked to bring classic Tales of games to the new generation of consoles, complete with quality-of-life enhancements.
After Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, the Remastered Project began and has delivered Tales of Symphonia Remastered, Tales of Graces f Remastered and Tales of Xillia Remastered, which is out next week.
Tomizawa also added that more than 70 percent of sales for the Tales of series were outside of Japan, but hastened to add that this wasn’t because its popularity has waned with Japanese players. Rather, it is becoming more popular around the world, and the platforms on which the games are now available has diversified.
Tales of Xillia Remastered will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30 October 2025.
