The Nintendo 3DS has once again had a particularly strong week in Japan, following the release of Namco Bandai’s Tales of the Abyss.
As the handheld’s first key JRPG title, owners of Nintendo’s latest handheld surged to purchase Tales of the Abyss allowing it to outpace competition from other new releases such as Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and GoldenEye 007.
With sales of 74,173 units within its first week, it easily sat atop the latest software chart, whilst also providing a boost to Nintendo 3DS sales meaning that the system nudged past closest rival, the PSP, for the week.
