Nintendo has revealed that Talent Arts will make a return in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, having been absent since the original Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii.

Talent Arts are abilities that were unique to each character, but, before they could be used, relied on the player to first build the Talent Gauge.

It was revealed on Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 2018 that they will be back in the Nintendo Switch exclusive’s new story content, but will work slightly differently this time around. The Talent Arts now have a condition that must be met before they can take effect.

The first example that was shown was for Lora, who has Swallow’s Flight. When her HP is at 30 percent or higher, you can choose to hit the right directional button to sacrifice 25 percent of her maximum HP to fully recharge all Arts instantly.

Another example was Adam who has Transcend, that, when his HP is at 30 percent or higher, he can sacrifice 25 percent of his maximum HP to extend the Driver Combo time – helping you deal more significant damage to your enemies.

It is not only Drivers that have Talent Arts either, with Nintendo confirming that Blades will have them as well.

For those that own or want to buy the Expansion Pass, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on September 14th. It will also be made available as a stand-alone packaged version on September 21st.
