Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that it “would fully expect” to support Nintendo Switch 2, although is not yet ready to share further news.
The third-party publisher has supported the original portable home console with games such as BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and, most recently, NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Nintendo. We’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release. There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences, and that was reflected in our release schedule,” Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick explained in the publisher’s Q3 2025 earnings call.
“Now, today with Nintendo Switch and potentially with Nintendo Switch 2, the device can support any audience. As you may have noted, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is now available on Switch. While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch [2].”
You will be able to learn more about Nintendo’s next console in a Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, which will broadcast at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday 2 April.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be released worldwide in 2025, with a launch date yet to be confirmed.
