Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has expressed that he remains “skeptical” regarding the Wii U, and reiterated that the company has so far made no commitment to the platform.

“We haven’t announced anything. I’m skeptical,” Zelnick responded during an interview with Gamasutra, in which he was questioned as to the plausibility of bringing their mature titles to Wii U.

That isn’t to say that Take-Two aren’t excited by new hardware, citing that console launches can determine publisher success.

“For a company like ours, it’s a great opportunity,” he added. “[New console launches] separate the winners from the losers, and we fully expect to be one of the winners.

“I don’t want to minimize the challenge of creating titles for new technology or the economic challenges of doing that, but if you get it right, it’s a terrific time to launch a new IP.”
