Blowfish Studios, GoodJob Multimedia, Pixel Perfex and RSU Horizon have announced that Krut: The Mythic Wings will release on Nintendo Switch next month.
This is a side-scrolling hack-and-slash platformer based on Southeast Asian lore, in which a great Krut warrior called Vera searches for the ancient land of his ancestors. His heart burning with a searing flame, it can only be extinguished once her liberates his people from the evil Zulla’s tyranny.
Luckily, he has been endowed with the legendary Silver Wings and sets out in search of elemental magic to restore their true power. That quest will see you charge through the landscapes of Himmaphan Island – such as lush forests, castle ruins and burning cities – defeating the beasts that prowl each region.
You will be able to use the power of flight to your advantage on both the land and in the sky, exchanging the spirit orb pieces that you recover on your adventure to enhance Vera’s attack, defence, wing power and other abilities. That will prove vital as you battle to subdue the six great guardians, retrieve the elemental spirits and ultimately overcome the corrupt power of the island.
“Krut: The Mythic Wings is lovingly based on the story told in the beautifully animated Thai film Krut: The Himmaphan Warriors,” explains Blowfish Studios co-founder Ben Lee. “The team has worked passionately to showcase not only a classic hero’s tale, but also to proudly represent the historic customs of their local region. Coupled with classic speedrun-friendly platforming, Krut makes a culturally significant and nostalgic package.”
Krut: The Mythic Wings will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 12th July 2022.
