As announced in early January, Nintendo World on Rockefeller Plaza in New York temporarily closed its doors for a month while a major renovation was made to the store.
That work has now been completed, with the store rebranded as Nintendo NY and having since reopened on Friday 19th February. Nintendo of America has since shared photos to celebrate the occasion, showcasing the new interior design that, among other changes, has added new Wii U and Nintendo 3DS demo units, a 15-foot gaming screen, and a large bronze coin at the store’s entrance with the new slogan: “Where everyone comes to play.”
Mario, Luigi, beloved voice actor Charles Martinet, Doug Bowser, Scott Moffitt and Rick Lessley were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, before the store was open for fans to buy exclusive merchandise over the weekend.
