The Pokémon Company has announced the new Tag Team Pokémon-GX cards at the 2018 Pokémon World Championships, a game-changing addition to the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
It was The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara who took to the stage to reveal the next evolution of Pokémon-GX, explaining that Tag Team Pokémon-GX cards will have pairs of Pokémon that are the same type that join forces in battle on a single card.
To give you a better idea, the first example that we can take a look at is the Lightning-type Pikachu & Zekrom-GX.
These cards have unprecedented power and Hit Points, with some Tag Team GX attacks presenting the chance to Knock Out a Pokémon-GX on the opponent’s Bench with a single blow.
However, the Tag Team Pokémon-GX cards carry a risk in that when they are knocked out, the opponent will take three Prize cards.
The Pokémon Company has promised details about more pairings for Tag Team Pokémon-GX cards in the coming months.
