Tactical RPG Dark Deity Locks In March Release Date

Freedom Games and Sword and Axe have confirmed a release date for their turn-based tactical RPG Dark Deity on Nintendo Switch.

Taking inspiration from genre classics, you will have the chance to command 30 memorable characters – wielding their abilities in battle and experimenting with 50 unlockable classes.

With branching paths in the storyline, there are three difficulty settings to choose between, a built-in randomiser and a system called Grave Wounds that “reimagines” permadeath mechanics.

Rather than removing units from the party permanently, the Grave Wounds system gives a unit permanent stat penalties whenever their health reaches zero – in looking to emulate physical injuries or mental scars.

“Taking the classic tactical RPG experience on the go with the Nintendo Switch has been a strong desire for us,” explains Sword and Axe game director Chip Moore. “Not only are we able to bring the game to an even wider audience, but now the game has never looked more beautiful with its new graphical upgrades. Thank you to everyone for supporting us and making this happen, we couldn’t have done it without your support for the initial launch.”

Dark Deity will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17th March 2022.
