Deck 13 and Playwood Project have announced that Wartile will release on Nintendo Switch this week.

This “cool-down based strategy game” places you in control of a Warband of Viking figurines with which you will explore handcrafted diorama battle boards inspired by Norse mythology.

While the game has strategic elements that you may recognise from turn-based games, it mixes in slow down features and cool-down based gameplay to help maintain the tension of battle while allowing you enough time to decide what to do next.

The experience is all “about positioning and tactical decision making,” letting you control the speed of the fight so that you are able to react to critical situations as and when they happen.

You will have the chance to collect and level up different figurines, as well as the ability to customise your Warband with armour pieces, weapons and combat abilities before they set out on each quest.

The port to the portable home console also includes the Hel’s Nightmare downloadable content which has seen evil powers awake, resulting in a horde of Draugr Warriors pouring into the Norse regions.

Wartile will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th September 2020.
