Nintendo has announced that more than 155.37 million Nintendo Switch consoles have now been sold worldwide, meaning that it has now outsold the Nintendo DS.
In the nine months ended 31 December 2025, 3.25 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold, which represents a 66 percent year-on-year decline.
That wasn’t enough to stop it from surpassing the 154.02 million Nintendo DS consoles sold to date, securing Nintendo Switch’s place as the company’s best-selling console ever.
It had already surpassed the original Game Boy (118.69 million), Wii (101.63 million), Game Boy Advance (81.51 million) and Nintendo 3DS (75.94 million), and now only needs to outsell the PlayStation 2 to become the best-selling console of all time.
Sony states that its successor to the original PlayStation has sold 160 million consoles across the globe since its launch in 2000.

Ultimate has sold 37.44 million, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold 33.64 million, Super Mario Odyssey has sold 30.27 million, while Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have sold 28.08 million copies.
Meanwhile, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have sold 27.08 million, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has sold 22.40 million, Super Mario Party has sold 21.28 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has sold 18.80 million copies.
