Awesome Games Studio has announced that Badass Hero will release on Nintendo Switch, a roquelite platformer shooter where you play inside a comic book.

With fast-paced hit and run gameplay, procedurally generated levels, and random items that the developer promises will make every playthrough different.

There are three comic stories to play through: “Quetzalcoatl’s Awakening,” in which you face an awakening Evil God; “Operation Crimson Dusk” where you must defeat the Nazis; and “The Last Stand of Earth,” that sees you defend Earth from an alien invasion.

If the Metal Slug-inspired visuals weren’t a strong enough giveaway, Badass Hero will see players loading themselves up with guns before jumping, dashing, shooting, and dodging projectiles in each level.

Your enemies can be decimated with shotguns, machine guns, rocket launchers and other firearms, with the ink that they drop used to power up your character.

Badass Hero will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2018.
