Doragon Entertainment has announced that Danmaku Unlimited 3 will release on Nintendo Switch, which is described as a lovingly crafted medley that has been built with the best aspects of Japanese bullet hell games.
With high octane old-school arcade action running at 60 frames per second, Danmaku Unlimited 3 adds a new Ultra Wide Mode on Nintendo Switch and has a TATE mode (vertical display) to recreate an arcade machine experience.
The game takes inspiration from legendary classics such as Ikaruga, Dodonpachi, and Touhou, but looks to deliver an innovative twist that makes it more accessible for those new to the genre.
Against a rock soundtrack from Japanese indie band Blankfield, that comes from the SPIRIT/GRAZE system. When you fly close to bullets it will “graze” it and build a score multiplier over time, while bullets from defeated enemies are converted into Spirit Bullets that add to the chain. Everything that you do supercharges the weapons, meaning that you can use this to your advantage.
Danmaku Unlimited 3 will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch on March 13th, priced at $9.99.
