Survive An Ever-Changing Labyrinth In Tangledeep On Nintendo Switch

Impact Gameworks has announced that Tangledeep will release on Nintendo Switch, a roguelike dungeon crawler that pays tribute to the 16-bit golden age of SNES-era RPGs.

For hundreds of years, people have lived in the safety of underground settlements and villages where the only route to the surface is Tangledeep – a mysterious and ever-changing labyrinth.

With memories of the surface world long forgotten, the player sets out for the labyrinth to discover what lies above them. Magical beasts, ancient automatons, and hybrid biomes fill each floor, with strategic turn-based gameplay putting the game’s customisable job system and equipment to work.

The soundtrack has two styles: an authentic, retro SNES version and a modern version with orchestration and live-recorded instrumentalists. For that, developer Andrew “zircon” Aversa, Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3 composer Hiroki Kikuta, as well as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Yooka-Laylee composer Grant Kirkhope have all penned music.

Tangledeep will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in early 2018.
