Super Smash Bros. Spring 2014 launch estimate a “misquotation”

Nintendo have been quick to disperse the spring 2014 time frame that emerged for Super Smash Bros. yesterday, explaining that Nintendo Germany’s general manager Bernd Fakesch was comments were “misquotation.”

Südwest Presse’s article has since been updated to point toward the game’s release “next year,” shattering hopes that we wouldn’t have to wait too long.

“There seems to be some buzz online today about the launch date of Super Smash Bros.,” a Nintendo spokesperson has explained.

“We would like to clarify that the speculation about a Spring 2014 launch date for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U was the result of a misquotation in an interview. The original article has since been rectified and we have no further announcements to make at this time.”
