Nintendo of America can celebrate once again, with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS leading much of the company’s sales success in NPD’s September report.
Despite the game’s launch only falling within two days worth of data, it became the fourth best-seller for the month after shifting more than 705,000 copies over such a short space of time. The company also noted that the Nintendo eShop was a popular route to purchase, attributing over 135,000 sales to their digital storefront.
Hardware sales were boosted as a result of such popularity, with 140,000 units across 3DS XL, 3DS and 2DS models being sold in September – calculated to be a 55 percent increase in comparison to August.
