Super Smash Bros. For Wii U & 3DS Version 1.1.6 Update Now Available

Nintendo has pushed live a new software update to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, seeing their mascot brawler now sat at Version 1.1.6.

Their update details are notoriously unspecific, only mentioning that “adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” We’re told that, as expected, multiplayer options will be unavailable to those that don’t update, so make sure that you do so before taking the fight online or with other players locally.

  • Once version 1.1.6 has been installed, local wireless will not work with older versions of the software. Replays created with older versions of the software will not work either.
  • Version 1.1.6 is required for online play.
