Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct brought confirmation that amiibo support will be introduced to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS through a software update next month.
This will allow those with New Nintendo 3DS systems to use figures, courtesy of the revised hardware’s built-in NFC technology. Whereas those with older systems will have to await the arrival of the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer, which was announced last year.
