Super Mario Strikers Hits Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics Next Week

Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Strikers (or Mario Smash Football in Europe) will be made available to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers on Nintendo Switch 2 next week.

To be added to Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics on 3 July 2025, the all-out soccer brawl was originally released for the GameCube back in 2005.

After selecting your captain from Mushroom Kingdom stars like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario and Waluigi, you will compete in modes such as Grudge Match, Cup Battles and Custom Battles.

In chaotic matches that unfold with “white-hot speed and intensity,” you can use familiar items like Shells and Mushrooms to boost your team’s chances. Unleashing the Super Strike, a powerful shot that can score you two points at once, is key to winning, whether than be playing solo or in local and online multiplayer matches for up to four players.

Further additions confirmed to come in the future including Chibi-Robo!Fire Emblem: Path of RadianceLuigi’s MansionPokémon ColosseumPokémon XD: Gale of Darkness and Super Mario Sunshine.

Nintendo most recently revealed that Nintendo Switch Online now has more than 34 million subscribers.

The pricing plans for Nintendo Switch Online are £3.49 ($3.99) per month, £6.99 ($7.99) for three months or £17.99 ($19.99) for 12 months. There is a 12-month Family Membership for £31.49 ($34.99) that allows a Nintendo Account holder to “invite up to seven others to join a family group” that will all have access to Nintendo Switch Online.

Whereas an individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is priced at £34.99 ($49.99) for 12 months, with a Family Membership priced at £59.99 ($79.99).
