Nintendo has announced Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, adding “unique new modes and minigames that showcase mouse controls, the system’s built-in mic, and Nintendo Switch 2 camera.”
In Mario Party mode, with a Nintendo Switch 2 camera up to four players will be able to see each other’s reactions as you play. You will take the stage with the King Koopa himself in Bowser Live, a game show-themed experience with two-on-two team battles that rely on full-body movement and audio recognition, whereas the mouse-controlled Carnival Coaster will challenge you to shoot down enemies and compete in minigames when you enter warp pipes.
It has been explained that the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of a game is a bundle that includes the original game and its upgrade pack, which “enhances the game to take advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 system.”
If you own the original Nintendo Switch game – either as a physical or digital version – you can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing the game’s upgrade pack digitally from the Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo Store or at retailers.
The company has outlined the specific Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades, which include:
- Visually enhanced with improved frame rate
- New way to play exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2: Jamboree TV
- New modes that use mouse controls, microphone and a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately)
- Players appear within the game via CameraPlay using a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately)
- GameShare compatibility for local multiplayer
- WQHD (1440p) resolution in TV mode, Full HD (1080p) in tabletop mode and handheld mode (Jamboree TV only)
Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 24 July 2025.
