This year marks the 20th anniversary celebrations of the heavily mocked Super Mario Bros. movie.

The Super Mario Bros. The Movie Archive held a midnight screening at the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles, with props, a Q&A with production staff, and a pre-recorded message from Luigi’s real-life “Luigi Mario” acting counterpart John Leguizamo which you can watch below.

He discusses his experiences, and just how tough it was being part of the first videogames movie.

It’ll be tomorrow, May 28th, that marks 20 years since the movie first released and traumatised the globe.
