Super Horn and Crazy Eight expand Mario Kart 8 items

Nintendo have detailed two new items that will be making an appearance within Mario Kart 8, which is speeding toward release later this month.

It is the Super Horn that noticeably switches the game’s competitive side up, being both an offensive and defensive addition to the available items. It can either be sounded to disorientate rival racers surrounding the player with a sonic shock wave, or to blow away incoming projectiles such as the Red Shell and Spiny Shell – the latter having always been a nuisance to those leading the pack.

The Crazy Eight, similar to Mario Kart 7‘s Lucky Seven, grants players an assortment of eight different items that can each be used to best their opponents.

Mario Kart 8 will release for Wii U across Europe and North America on May 30th.
