Square Enix has outlined the 12 eidolons that players will be able to call upon in Final Fantasy Explorers.
That sees memorable eidolons such as Odin, Ramuh, Shiva and Ifrit return, with two new eidolons introduced in the flower-like Dryad and the mysterious Amaterasu.
These can be summoned in battle when in Trance Mode, but players are first required to defeat the eidolon. The action RPG can see you adventure solo, or as a party with up to four players locally or online.
Once you have completed the main storyline, “aberrant versions” of each eidolon will appear to pose a significantly tougher challenge and will feature a different design.
The Nintendo 3DS exclusive will boast 21 Job Classes, with a Collector’s Edition available to pre-order – which includes a 3DS hard case, limited edition art book, soundtrack CD and four unlockable in-game quests that will see you forge legendary Final Fantasy weapons.
Final Fantasy Explorers will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America on January 26th, and in Europe on January 29th.
