Tribute Games has announced that Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition will release on Nintendo Switch, striking back at CLAW who have seized an island-wide top secret Laboratory Base.
The developer sees this as the definitive adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2D side-scrolling action platformer, now redesigned, redefined, rebalanced, and packed with additional content that expands upon the original game.
That lets players take command of mecha-armour in the new Steel Soldier mission, play as two new characters in resistance fighter Frigg and friendly automaton C-Zar, craft new knives and gun parts, and makes improvements such as the chance to buy materials, stronger grenades, a menu that previews mission rewards, and displaying mission objectives on the minimap.
“We are very excited to bring Mercenary Kings to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation Vita users,” explains Tribute Games co-founder Jean-Francois Major. “The Reloaded Edition will provide current players with a refined experience loaded with new content and welcome new players to enjoy our mixture of customisable mayhem and over the top boss encounters on new consoles.”
Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on February 6th, with Limited Run Games to publish a physical limited edition version.
