Image & Form are preparing to send us on an intergalactic adventure of steam-driven proportions, announcing today that SteamWorld Heist will launch next week.

Set to board other platforms, it will firstly see release on Nintendo 3DS with a launch discount available “as a Holiday gift” to the community until 31st December 2015. That will see the regular price point be temporarily discounted to £11.99 / €16.99 / $16.99 (normally £14.99 / €19.99 / $19.99).

Promising 20 – 25 hour play time, the developer believes that you are getting more than enough bang for your buck – sharing that it “is at least 10 times bigger and better than [SteamWorld] Dig.” While those that buy it in such window will also score themselves an exclusive SteamWorld Heist 3DS HOME Menu theme.

“SteamWorld Heist has now been two years in the making,” Image & Form CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson shares. “In that time, I’ve seen my colleagues evolve, get married and have babies – all while writing amazing amounts of brilliant code and drawing near-uncountable, beautiful strokes to make a wonderful game.

“For a short while we talked about postponing the game into 2016, which would have felt like a huge defeat. And in the end we didn’t have to – Heist was ready!”

SteamWorld Heist will launch across Australia, Europe, New Zealand and North America on December 10th.
