There was particular excitement when it was announced that Stardew Valley would see release on Nintendo Switch, and now it looks like there isn’t too long left to wait.

Chucklefish Games director Finn Brice was first to share a photo with the game running on the popular portable home console, before marketing manager Molly Carroll soon added that she was testing it on the publisher’s dev kit.

With hand-me-down tools and little money to your name, the open-ended country-life RPG challenges players to live off the land and turn overgrown fields into the thriving business that it once was.

After looking to target the Nintendo Switch launch window, developer ConcernedApe altered course to say that they were “planning on bringing it to the platform later this year.”

Stardew Valley will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in 2017.
