Zynga and Lucasfilm Games have revealed the debut gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Hunters, their competitive arena combat game which is coming to Nintendo Switch and mobile devices next year.

This trailer has looked to showcase some of the game’s competitive arenas and each Hunters’ unique fighting style – whether that be Rieve and J-3DI’s lightsaber-wielding expertise, Zaina and Sentinel’s deadeye blaster accuracy, Imara Vex’s arsenal of bounty hunting weaponry, Grozz’s brute strength, the cunning tech of Slingshot’s droideka and Utooni’s resourceful use of scavenged scraps.

Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Star Wars: Hunters will connect players in real-time battles across settings that take inspiration from iconic Star Wars locales. The experience promises to “bring players together to engage in thrilling, squad-based, multiplayer battles featuring a diverse array of distinctive new Star Wars characters.”

Choosing from a cast of “unique and idiosyncratic” new characters such as bounty hunters, heroes of the Rebellion and Imperial Stormtroopers, the action game will look to immerse you in fast-paced conflict.

“Today’s gameplay reveal gives players their first look at the Hunters in action, showcasing eight of the dynamic characters which will be available at launch,” explains Zynga president of publishing Bernard Kim. “Our teams at NaturalMotion and Boss Alien are excited for fans to enter the fray and compete for galaxy-wide glory in the Arena next year.”

Star Wars: Hunters will be available free to download on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, on the App Store and on Google Play worldwide in 2022.
