Star Wars Episode I: Racer Releases For Nintendo Switch On May 12th

Aspyr has confirmed a release date for Star Wars Episode I: Racer on Nintendo Switch.

This popular LucasArts-developed racing game was based on the podracing competition seen in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Originally released for Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast and PC way back in 1999, it invites players to strap into a pod racer and compete to win on courses set across Tatooine and other planets.

There are 25 playable racers that include Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba and Ratts Tyerell,with the chance to work with pit droids to upgrade your podracer to reach higher top speeds and acceleration.

“Star Wars fans can soon go full throttle with Aspyr’s update to the classic, fan-favourite, Star Wars Episode l: Racer,” explains Elizabeth Howard, vice president of publishing at Aspyr.

“The beloved game has been modernized for the most optimal gaming experience on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Star Wars fans should get ready to steer their racer to victory and leave their opponents in the dust.”

Star Wars Episode I: Racer will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 12th May 2020 priced at $14.99.
