Star Fox Zero locks in April release dates

With Star Fox Zero promising a new beginning for the series, this week’s Nintendo Direct saw the Wii U exclusive lock in new April 2016 release dates.

In an apologetic message back in September, Shigeru Miyamoto had made the hard decision to delay the game, reasoning: “Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes.”

That extra time has already begun to impress, with a new cinematic trailer introducing the Star Fox team to those less familiar with the relatively dormant IP.

Star Fox Zero will release exclusively for Wii U in North America on April 22nd, and across Europe in April.

  1. I’ve been disappointed in the series since the big changes after the original one. Too me the original Star Fox is the best. I really wish Nintendo would have kept the same concept of the original from the Super Nintendo and just updated the graphics and sound. Also new weapons on the ship would be good but I can’t stand the tank and the walker modes. Also the music from the Nintendo 64 version still looks present from the video shown here. I don’t like it as much as the original game’s music. Makes me sad to see it go this route. I’m thinking of the greatness Star Fox could have went to but I am disappointed everytime I see this how someone missed an opportunity to make Star Fox great again 🙁
