Square Enix Hope Dragon Quest XI Will Sell 5 Million Copies

It has certainly been a long road for the game’s development, but Square Enix has high hopes for how well Dragon Quest XI will sell in Japan.

Asahi reported that the company’s chief financial officer Kazuharu Watanabe has explained that he “would like to expect five million sales,” a milestone that encompasses the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS versions.

Square Enix has continued to share more details about the game in Japanese magazines, the most recent being an article in last week’s Shonen Jump that revealed how players would be able to create and enhance equipment using the Mysterious Forge.

Dragon Quest XI will release on Nintendo 3DS in Japan on July 29th, with the Nintendo Switch launch date remaining unspecified.

[Thanks, Japanese Nintendo]
