Whitethorn Games and North Star Video Games have announced that the release date for Spray Paint Simulator has been delayed on Nintendo Switch.

“We know that fans are eagerly awaiting the game’s release on Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the generous feedback, we have made several fixes and changes to enhance the experience,” the publisher explained in a press release.

“This extra time will ensure that all these updates are included in the Nintendo Switch version on day one, giving players the best possible version of the game on that platform.

“We know this news is disappointing, and we’re sorry for the added wait. However, we’re doing our best to make it as short as possible and are confident that it will be worth it. We truly appreciate your patience and continued support.”

Splatterville desperately needs a makeover, and the town has asked you to help them. In this “relaxing and totally satisfying painting simulator,” you can start your own painting business.

In Story Mode, eccentric clients will seek your painting expertise. You will take each job right from the start, preparing your space, choosing the right colours and unleashing your creativity to deliver the best results. Along with using ladders and scaffolding, upgrading your tools, vehicles and equipment will help you get to those hard-to-reach spots.

There is also a Free Spray Mode that you can unlock, where, whether playing solo or with a friend, the entire town will become your canvas.

The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

  • Enjoy an easy, relaxing gameplay experience without time limits or complex gameplay mechanics.
  • Explore an assortment of colors to paint with; the final result is up to your artistic eye.
  • Grow your business and keep your clients happy in Story Mode by meeting the “unique” community of Spatterville, taking on tasks, and working to become the top painter in town!
  • Unlock Free Spray Mode and play solo or co-operatively with a friend, and make the town your canvas — let your creativity run wild.
  • Get the full painting experience starting with prep work, such as fixing and removing objects, masking the area, selecting your paint, and painting each object to meet your customer’s expectations.
  • Manage your consumables and acquire new items to suit each task, including spray tools, battery power, vehicles, paints, scaffolding, and more.

Spray Paint Simulator will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 22 July 2025.
