Nintendo have revealed that they will run regular ‘Splatfests’ in Splatoon.
These themed events will ask players to take sides by answering a simple question, then splattering for glory in online multiplayer to represent their choice.
This will have a separate ranking system that, based on the overall rank achieved, may reward you with a Super Sea Snail item that will let you upgrade your Inkling’s gear.
The first Splatfest will take place on 27th June, with the theme asking ‘Which music do you prefer: rock or pop?’ and will reward every player on the winning side with a Super Sea Snail.
Splatoon will launch exclusively for Wii U in Japan on May 28th, and everywhere else worldwide on May 29th.
