Today’s Splatoon Direct has shared that Nintendo have released a free ‘Splatoon Global Testfire’ demo that will be available to download from 4pm BST (5pm CEST).

This will allow players to try the Wii U exclusive’s online multiplayer in scheduled 1-hour sessions on Saturday 9th May at 4am, 12pm and 8pm BST (Friday 8th May: 8 – 9pm PT / Saturday 9th May: 4 – 5am PT, 12 – 1 pm PT). Players will be able to jump online in 4-on-4 Turf War battles against others worldwide, as well as Nintendo’s own Squid Research Lab.

As an added incentive in Europe, those that download the demo can claim a 10 percent discount when purchasing Splatoon through the Nintendo eShop between 29th May – 4th June 2015. This will see the regular £34.99 price tag temporarily reduced to £31.49 for those that have downloaded the Splatoon Global Testfire on the same Wii U.

Splatoon will launch exclusively for Wii U in Japan on May 28th, and everywhere else worldwide on May 29th.
