There was more news too, with Salmon Run revealed for the first time. This new four-player co-op mode will see Inklings land on a remote, derelict man-made island, which has become a hot spot for freelance Power Egg collectors.
Teaming up with friends, players will battle the new Salmonid species which are feared to be even more lethal than the Ocatarians that were encountered in Splatoon. This is essentially a horde mode, seeing players defend against increasingly menacing waves of enemies – with Chum and Steelhead species revealed so far.
You will have to work together to succeed, and, when a player falls in Salmon Run, teammates can revive them by inking them on the battlefield.
Splatoon 2 will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 21st.
