Nintendo of Europe has released a new advert that showcases how families can enjoy Nintendo Switch anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.
After demonstrating how games for the portable home console like Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Nintendo Labo, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe can fit around our daily lives, the advert ends with the whole family getting together to play Mario Tennis Aces.
It’s here that we can catch a glimpse at the game’s character select screen, and, from that, Nintendo has unintentionally leaked that Spike will appear as a new playable character.
Spike, which is a Koopa enemy that had first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, had most recently joined the playable character roster in Mario Party 10. But, now it has chosen to swap out dice rolls for a breakable tennis racquet.
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash had introduced Rosalina, Toadette, and Sprixie Princess as new playable characters for the first time, while, so far, we know that Mario Tennis Aces has added Chain Chomp, Spike, and Koopa Troopa.
Mario Tennis Aces will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on June 22nd.
