Having achieved its Kickstarter stretch goal, indie JRPG Soul Saga will eventually see release for Wii U through the Nintendo eShop.
Alongside such fact, indie developer Mike Gale has shared his early ideas for how the Wii U GamePad will be implemented, indicating that it will become a “steampunk styled cell phone.”
“I have been thinking a lot about it. For starters, the player will have a steampunk styled cell phone in Soul Saga to communicate with guild members and other people in the world,” Gale explained to Nintendo-online.de.
“I think this would find the perfect place on the Wii U controller. If the player gets an e-mail, phone call, or text message then it would pop up on the Wii U controller like a smart phone! I also want to implement a radar and other HUD elements to the Wii U GamePad for airship exploration.
“I have many other ideas, but I’d really like to think what the fans of Soul Saga think, so I will be making an update sometime within the last week to gather suggestions!”
