The anticipated 2D return of the iconic blue character in Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 has been met with strong sales that have allowed the downloadable title to top the WiiWare chart.
Sorting the assortment of WiiWare games by their sales figures whizzes Sonic 4 right into the top spot. However, having also been able to make the same mark on PlayStation 3 in topping the PSN Store chart, Sonic’s latest hasn’t been able to perform so admirably on Apple’s App Store, failing to enter the top ten on either iPhone or iPad.
Regardless, it proves there’s still plenty of love for the speedy character and something that will hopefully be replicated within sales for Sonic Colours released today across Europe, and due to launch in North America next Tuesday.
