After the disappointment that was Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, SEGA have announced Sonic Runners as the blue blur’s next game in development.
Famitsu reports that Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka made an appearance at a Japanese fan event, where he confirmed that it was destined for smartphones with more news on the way next month.
Speculation driven by the name and platform alone has many believing that it will be an endless runner, although SEGA have already released Sonic Dash in such genre across iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
