SEGA has confirmed a release date for physical copies of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
Priced at £64.99 ($69.99), the company has reiterated that these physical copies “will feature the full base game on cartridge.”
In Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, courses that include land, air and sea terrain make their return, with a new addition in the never-before-seen Travel Rings feature that affects the race in real time by transporting racers to all-new CrossWorlds mid-race.
The game offers “the largest roster of characters in any Sonic racing game,” in which you can also customise your vehicles – mixing and matching vehicle parts, powers and abilities to create a racing experience that suits your gameplay style.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with the kart racer, concluding in our review: “Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a truly awesome experience, one whose track-switching gimmick never tires and manages to inject some surprise into a pretty well-worn genre. Inventive, exhilarating and a stellar presentation means the hedgehog’s hot streak of quality releases continues with what may be his best outing in some time. For me, Mario and Kirby can battle it out for second place when it comes to king of the kart racers this year.”
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released at retail worldwide on 26 March 2026. The game is already available digitally on the Nintendo eShop.
