SEGA has revealed that Special Stages will appear in Sonic Mania, an announcement that was made at their Sonic Mania: Behind The Scenes panel at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.
That saw head of Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka, developer Christian Whitehead, programmer Simon Thomley, artist Tom Fry and composer Tee Lopes talk about the game’s road to development, moderated by social media manager Aaron Webber.
The panellists went on to discuss Sonic Mania‘s origins, fun stories about the development process, the art behind the game, and more details about the Sonic Mania vinyl that is now available to pre-order.
SEGA has also shared the Special Stage theme, “Dimension Heist,” that Tee Lopes has written and which has been mixed and mastered by Falk Au Yeong.
Sonic Mania will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on August 15th.
