SEGA has announced the Sonic Mania Plus release date, which builds on the momentum behind the critically acclaimed Sonic Mania by showering the blue blur’s best adventure with new content.
It will introduce two new playable characters in Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel as well as an Encore mode that lends a fresh look to zones with new challenges and layouts.
The Competition and Time Attack modes will also receive an update to allow four player competitions, and ghost challenges for time trials.
The refreshed game will come in an all-new physical edition that will include a 32-page collector’s artbook, a reversible SEGA Mega Drive cover, and holographic packaging.
Sonic Mania Plus will release at retail for Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 17th, and, to upgrade, an Encore DLC pack will be available to those that bought the game digitally on the Nintendo eShop priced at £3.99.
