SEGA has revealed that Sonic Lost World will shortly see release on Steam, which is now available to pre-purchase in advance of the port’s launch on November 2nd.

This seemingly signals the end of the the publisher’s worldwide partnership with Nintendo, that saw Sonic Lost World developed exclusively for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

SEGA later shared that they had sold more than 710,000 copies, which was a number that they were evidently pleased with hitting.

Now “new and improved” for PC, Sonic’s adventure boasts 60 FPS gameplay, HD resolution support, Full PC Gamepad + Keyboard support and Full Steam functionality – including Steam Achievements, Cloud and Leaderboards. Priced at £19.99, those that pre-purchase will also receive admirable kart racer Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Sonic Lost World sees Sonic team up with Dr. Eggman when the menacing Deadly Six rise up against him. We were full of praise for Sonic Team’s efforts, concluding in our review that it represents: “A mirthful and upbeat adventure for SEGA’s star that at its climactic best easily rubs shoulders with the greatest that the series has ever had to offer, yet one that still remains troubled by issues that chip away at an otherwise delightful assault on the senses.”
