Sonic Lost World debut trailer speeds in

Nintendo Switch Lifestyle Photo

We first learned of Sonic Lost World during the most recent Nintendo Direct, during which it was announced that Nintendo had entered a worldwide partnership with SEGA.

Today, we can catch our first glimpse of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS exclusive in action, and it’s looking pretty darn good.

Clucking chickens kick things off, as a group of colourful enemies roar at them before SEGA’s iconic blue hero turns up in defence. As for the gameplay, it’s stirring stuff that proves particularly exciting and sees Sonic Team certainly looking back on form. Internet commenters are already drawing parallels to Super Mario Galaxy, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Sonic Lost World will release exclusively for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this year.
