SEGA has confirmed what players can expect from Sonic Forces technical performance on Nintendo Switch, which, unsurprisingly, entered development after the other versions.

DualShockers had the chance to interview Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Forces producer Shun Nakamura, director Morio Kishimoto, lead programmer Hiroki Tokunaga, and art director Yoshitaka Miura, who revealed that, thanks to their proprietary Hedgehog Engine 2, it was an easy process to port the game to the console.

It was first developed on PC before being ported to the other platforms, and they have worked hard to match the game’s performance on Nintendo Switch.

Tokunaga revealed that the blue blur’s next adventure will run with a 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on Nintendo Switch it will be a 720p resolution at 30 frames per second whether docked in TV Mode or undocked in Handheld Mode.

That difference came in response to the disparity in hardware, although he added that while the game runs at 30 frames per second, the controls are at 60 frames per second to improve the way in which players feel their interactions are reflected in the game.

Sonic Forces will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 7th.
